I stumbled across this article while looking up some facts on NHL games of years past.  Since the original SEGA Genesis found its way to our company break room a couple months ago, I have been playing NHL 94 all over again.  Like riding a virtual bike; one-timers, the breakaway deke, and cross-checks after a stoppage, the game remains addictive.  Even with fighting removed (not to return until '96), NHL 94 beats '93 thanks to the overall game play improvements.
